Engaged: Matt and Sarah (Bicentennial Park)

“We started dating the same day as my parents did,” Sarah told me proudly. “February 15.”

He pulled her close and grinned. She looked up at him with those sweltering blue eyes. And they laughed.

“Plus, we were debate partners before we started dating,” Matt piped up. “Just like my grandparents.”

“Annnnd, guess what?”  (This time, Sarah’s mom – Bridget – was putting in her two cents on this spectacular love story.)

“When I met my husband, his family had a dog named Bridget. When Sarah met Matt, his family had a dog named Sarah!”

If that isn’t the sweetest thing you ever did hear, I don’t know what is.

Sarah and Matt are getting married in less than two months (not like their counting or anything) and these two are i.n.c.r.e.d.i.b.l.e.  My favorite part? Looking back through the photos and realizing that Matt hardly ever looked at the camera.   He was most comfortable… most alive… most natural when he was looking at his Sarah. And THAT is a very very very good thing.  It made my heart melt. Truly.

(It helped, too, that he had five in-laws-to-be watching and giving pointers and telling him when he wasn’t smiling properly. No wonder he just looked at Sarah and smiled. It was easier that way. :-P)
