The rain, the threatening thunderstorms, and the humidity tried to put a damper on our day – literally and figuratively – but it couldn’t. Oh…no….never.  Not when its time to celebrate such a beautiful, pivotal, exciting season. And especially not when Todd and Marcela are counting down the days until they can meet their Jacob….

When the wind is blustery, the frost is so thick it looks like snow, and you can see your breath:  this is not the best time to do outdoor family photos. (Just sayin’.  Maybe that’s stating the obvious? Oh well.) But if you must take photos on such a chilly wintry morn’, make sure it’s family photos…

I would imagine that being in love must be something like dancing in the sunset on the rooftop: soaring high above the mundane lives of everyone else, watching them trod to work, but not really caring about the traffic jam that’s causing stress. The sun is brighter, you’re soaring higher, and you’re on a completely…

Beach Family Photos are idyllic. Or, at the very least, they look idyllic.  The glowing sunset, the happy laughter, the cute-in-love parentals, the frolicking, the giggling. Memories, preserved. Real Life doesn’t usually involve meandering walks on the beach or playful moments of family unity at all the right times. Real Life isn’t always rose-gold and idyllic….

Once there was a little girl with a very big heart.  Not just a big red balloon heart, though.  Her heart loves to laugh at silly faces and goofy noises and never-ending games of peek-a-boo.  She says so many things, and sometimes she uses sign language to fill in the gaps. Oh, and she’s cute….

Each step had to be careful, deliberate.  Slow movement was the only movement.  By all appearances, the river had been covering our pathway not too long before we’d arrived and our shoes held the mud to prove it. Step. Ssssssluhzs. Step.  Ssssssluhzs.  The mud-meet-shoe made a sucking/slurping/popping/mucous-blowing sound. Step. Ssssssluhzs. Step. Ssssssluhzs. But the mud…
