Take Your Wife to Work Day: China Edition

We dubbed it take your wife to work day.  Nothing official, nothing authorized, just me joining the van full of commuting expats heading to the banks of the Yangtse river where The Machine was being constructed.  And what a machine it is!

I won’t try to do it justice, and even the photos don’t properly portray the enormity of this beast.

But, in case you’re wondering why we trekked across the ocean to spend time in China, this is it:  a ship-loading, coal conveyer belt designed in Europe, wired in Canada, built in China, and to be used in South America.
