Photo Albums by AdoramaPix
For a photographer, nothing beats seeing my work in print. Whether it’s 4 x 6 prints, collaged on a graduation announcement, decorating tables at a wedding reception, or compiled into a photo album, it’s all thrilling. Especially in a digital age, where so many of the photos we take today are going to be lost in the tomorrows. (I saw one quote recently that said this – the most photographed – generation will have no photos to show in ten years. As technology changes and devices fail, I don’t doubt the concept.
Enter: photo albums from AdoramaPix.
Of all the album providers I have seen and used and tested, I love AdoramaPix the best. And the best part? They keep getting BETTER!
1. User-friendly photo album design by AdoramaPix.
AdoramaPix design software is web-based and impressively intuitive. The designer can let the software do the work, or take full control. I tend to be a control freak, so want full customization. But it’s also nice to let the software do some of the standard layouts and design elements for me. (The software is so easy my Mom can create a masterpiece — how’s that for a testimonial?!)
2. Fast turn around on photo albums by AdoramaPix
AdoramaPix under promises and over delivers with impressive ease. Most recently, my estimated delivery date was April 20 (I chose the slowest and cheapest shipping method) but the first of my three albums arrived in April 1 — the other two were in my hands by April 6.
3. Impressive quality photo albums by AdoramaPix.
I’m something of a snob when it comes to print and paper quality (not as much as some, granted, but definitely more snobby than not) and these books come back with vibrant colors, impressive papers, beautiful covers, and delightful binding. Photo albums from AdoramaPix have been on my shelves for over five years and have never disappointed.
4. Frequent sales on photo albums by AdoramaPix.
Just when it seems too good to be true, you can sign up for their email newsletter, and be first to know of sales and promotionals. My most recent order of three 12 x 12 albums happened to be ready right as I had a 30% off notification in my inbox. Talk about great savings!
5. Constantly improving photo albums by AdoramaPix.
I’ve been using AdoramaPix for five years now and am even MORE impressed with my most recent portfolio album than I thought I would be. With paper upgrades and a multitude of cover options, I created exactly the book that I’ll be proud to showcase.
You should know that these are *strictly* my opinions, but AdoramaPix does have a pretty schnazzy referral program: sign up through this link and we’ll both get credit toward our next order!
We may be the most photographed generation, but what are we *doing* with those photos?
You’re making me want to print some pictures! I don’t have a single picture printed of my two youngest children… and the most recent picture of my nearly 4 year old is when she was maybe 6 months old!
I’ve used them in the past, based on your recommendations, and really love their quality too!
I’d love to hear any thoughts you have on the various benefits of the different sizes of photo books. i.e. Why a 10×10 (for example) is better for wedding photos v. family photos, or something like that. Thoughts?
Picking a size really just depends on your purpose and budget: I like the concept of a 12×12 or 10×10 as a coffee table book, a centerpiece, an art installation. For books that are more archives and memories, I like 8×8 or 10×10.
My personal books tend to be 8 x 8 because they are more easily held and stacked and shelved, whereas portfolio and wedding albums get every square inch they can. =) Just a personal preference though.
Design tendencies also factor: Do you want a lot of photos on one page? Do you want one REALLY BIG photo covering a full 12×24 spread? What size can your budget and bookshelf sustain through the years?
Thanks!
