Balloons and Bubbles
He is often forgotten. Very unappreciated. He houses the sparrow’s nest and protects her nestlings and nurtures the fledgling. He takes care of sheltering the flowers below while letting the squirrels play in him all they want (and lets them hide many a winter nut in his cozy corners). But, most importantly, he guards the backyard of his beloved family.
In the far corner of grass, just before the chain link fence stands firm, there he is:Mr. Cedar Tree. He’s been there for many seasons of rain and snow and sunshine and giggles and squeals and tears and joy and family. Mr. Cedar Tree has watched as babies come home from the hospital, as puppies move in to be part of the family, as kids come home from school, as visitors come over to play. Mr. Cedar’s watched eye protects birthday parties and sandbox play. He gives shade on a hot summer day and provides shelter from the stormy winds.
And one day, Mr. Cedar Tree watched during the most squealy and giggly day of them all: a day of balloons and bubbles and tutus and siblings. Mr. Cedar Tree is the front row seat to childhood, the watchful eye when the puppy runs through the bubble maker, and the happy ceiling when a balloon cut loose and tried to escape. Mr. Cedar Tree is a good friend. A very good friend, indeed.
This was such a fun day!! And these pics always make me smile 🙂 thanks!
