My second wedding at Milner Chapel dawned a bitterly cold but perfectly clear day in late December. After the bustle of Christmas but before the rush of New Year’s, we snuggled into the ever-cozy, perfectly-charming, vintage-beautiful Milner Chapel in Langley, BC. With the most perfect Christmas charm, the most elaborate handmade details, and THREE pairs of bridal shoes, this Milner Chapel wedding was – to quote Mary Poppins – practically perfect in every way.
I loved everything about this Milner Chapel Wedding — the “welcome to our happily ever after” sign, the creatively displayed portraits from their vintage engagement session, the candlelit details, the fact that the bride sang her way down the aisle, the reality that I cried bucketloads of tears (yes, it was that beautiful!), the way that the family and friends huddled in a tightknit circle to pray God’s blessing and protection on this couple, the selfie everyone took at the beginning of the ceremony, the wedding bells that everyone rang along with the newly wed couple.
Despite the cold, this wedding day was one of warmth and joy: warm delight in the togetherness of family and friends, joy in the beauty of marriage.
May your mornings bring joy and your evenings bring peace.
May your troubles grow few as your blessings increase.
May the saddest day of your future
Be no worse than the happiest day of your past.
May your hands be forever clasped in friendship
And your hearts joined forever in love.
Your lives are very special,
God has touched you in many ways.
May his blessings rest upon you
And fill all your coming days.
