Morgan Creek Golf Wedding

Lori and Kamil’s Morgan Creek Golf Wedding was an autumn miracle. After the rainiest September I can remember (“more than twice the average rainfall” according to Vancouver is Awesome), their wedding day dawned with severe clear blue skies, a twinge of cool, and the happiest sun I can imagine.  As much as I love a good rain, and as much as we had rain plans in place: it was fantastic to throw all the back-up schemes to the wind and embrace the glory of an autumn wedding day.

I’ll never try to pick just one favourite memory from this autumn wedding, but one of the highlights was watching the unmitigated joy that Lori & Kamil kept expressing in the moments following their first look. Choosing to forego tradition to see each other before the ceremony gave not only a flexibility in photo-taking timeline (selfishly, I like that…and so do guests who don’t have to wait around for the party to start after the ceremony!) but also allows the nerves to fade away and be replaced with joy. Instead of walking the wedding day separately they were walking their wedding day together.  And what better way to start a marriage?!

Also: props to Lori for specifically wanting a forested first look. This cathedral in the forest made mine a very happy heart.

Jumping ahead to take a peek at their details: isn’t a Morgan Creek Golf wedding simply beautiful?!

Check out the dapper!

I have been counting down to their Morgan Creek Golf Wedding Day with great anticipation ever since I adventured up a forest service road with Lori & Kamil for their engagement photos (don’t miss those) because I saw such a beautiful glimpse of their relationship, joy, and up-for-anything-ness on that adventure. With each moment that Lori unabashedly walked through a forest in her lace-covered wedding dress – gathering pine needles and blackberry brambles in the netting of her train!! — I wept inner tears of joy.

It’s not easy to embrace the inconveniences of traipsing the forest in heels and a train, but ITS SO WORTH IT!

LORI! You are such a stunning bride.

STOP IT. Such much handsome/beauty in one bridal party!!

I’m pretty sure I’m including more ceremony photos in this blog post than maybe I ever have before. But when the setting is this gorgeous and the emotions are this raw and the joy is this tangible?! How would I ever decide what to cut??

I tend to wipe away at least one tear at every wedding (you’d think it’d become routine for me to pack kleenex but I still go into every wedding thinking I won’t be susceptible!) and this wedding was no exception. Such a powerful testament to Lori & Kamil’s dedication to one another and their joy in their families and their delight in starting marriage together.

Now: story time. These guys nonchalantly wandered out for their first dance … swayed a few moments to the music… and then broke into a fully choreographed, beautifully rehearsed, impeccably executed grand dance! Can I be cool like them when I grow up? Please?

Look at that spin!

And, with that, they danced the night way with their family and friends and proved to me that this crew KNOWS HOW TO DANCE, man. =D

I am so grateful to the amazing team that Lori & Kamil assembled for their Morgan Creek Golf wedding:
