Hazelmere Wedding

When I hung out with Brent and Cortney on a bitterly cold morning in January for their engagement photos, I learned three things about them: 1) Brent is a gentleman and shows it by taking care of Cortney so well, 2) Cortney adores Brent and lights up in his presence, 3) Between them, they care for their friends with immense kindness and joy.

Walking into their Hazelmere wedding day, then, I watched Brent leap at opportunities to serve Cortney (his train-and-veil-carrying-skills are unparalleled!), I loved seeing Cortney cherish her new marriage with Brent, and I loved watching how willingly they took opportunities to serve their friends (Cortney did her nephew’s hair, for example, and helped one of her bridesmaids re-pierce her ear for the wedding day jewelry!).

While this was my first wedding at Hazelmere Golf & Tennis Club, it is on the fast-track to the top of my list of “amazing venues in the Fraser Valley” — both for the efficient and kind staff, the beautiful wood panelling in the Panorama Room, and the exceptionally fantastic landscaping that allowed for a wide variety of portraits in one localized space.

Psst. Cortney’s shoes rock. I don’t think it gets any better than this pair! <3

Robyn of Binks Beauty Boutique did a smashingly amazing job on Cortney’s makeup. I mean, Cortney is already a ravishing beauty (duh!) and it never ceases to amaze me just how much some well applied makeup can make even the most gorgeous gal even more lovely.

When we arrived to the Hazelmere wedding ceremony, all eyes were on Brent  — especially his groomsmen! Each guy took a turn looking over to Brent and I loved it so much, seeing their excitement for him in that moment!

Cortney is gorgeous. The end.

Cortney rocked her cathedral-length veil even when I made them frolic in the grass and even when the veil’s lace was caught (multiple times!) in the sequins of the bridesmaid dresses. Isn’t that an impressive veil?!

One fabulous bridal party surrounded Cortney & Brent at Hazelmere. With  bridesmaid dresses from David’s Bridal, perfectly similar while full of personality. I’ve never seen anything like them!

As part of their pre-wedding celebration, the bridesmaids brought champagne to toast … talk about color coordinating accessories and activity!

Hearing speeches during the reception showcased in glorious detail all that there is to love about these two: I heard phrases like “loves her friends wholeheartedly” and “driven but kind” and “a deeper relationship with Christ while growing in relationship with one another” and “perfect for one another” and “exactly the right amount of silly”. . . as the one who only gets a few little glimpses into a relationship, hearing the couple cherished and praised during speeches is one of my favorite parts of the day.

Cortney’s dress (from Champagne and Lace) was perfectly twirlable and exactly what a dancing wedding dress ought to be.

I am so honored to have worked with these amazing vendors on such a fairytale day!
